About this trip
Four days in Puerto Maldonado, the jumping-off point for the Peruvian Amazon in the Madre de Dios region. This is proper rainforest, not a jungle-themed day trip, and the pace is easy enough that you can actually take it in.
You'll spend your time on foot and likely by boat, moving through dense tropical forest and getting close to the scale of life packed into this part of the Amazon, from birdlife to the smaller creatures most people never notice.
It's a guided small-group trip built around nature and wildlife, so expect early starts for the best sightings and a rhythm set by the forest rather than a packed itinerary.
