About this trip
This ten-day trip pairs India's classic Golden Triangle with a few days in Kathmandu, mixing Mughal history with Nepal's temples and mountain-town atmosphere.
You'll move between Delhi, Agra and Jaipur before crossing into Nepal, taking in forts, palaces and markets along the way, then swap the heat and bustle of northern India for the quieter, spiritual pace of Kathmandu.
It's a fully guided group tour, with a custom option, and suits families or anyone wanting a first proper look at both countries in one go.
What you'll do
- See the Taj Mahal at sunrise in Agra
- Explore Amber Fort and Jaipur's Pink City
- Wander Delhi's old and new city sights
- Visit Kathmandu's Durbar Square and Pashupatinath Temple
- Cross overland or by air between India and Nepal
- Fully guided throughout, with a custom itinerary option available
- Covers two countries in ten days, so travel days are part of the pace
- Suits families and groups, including over the Christmas and New Year period
Worth it if you value excellent guides and reliable drivers over pristine hotels. Think twice if you're budget-conscious—hidden activity costs add £20-25 daily, and solo travellers may find themselves alone.
- Guides like Raghunath Yadav in Agra and Navaraj Shrestha in Nepal deliver outstanding knowledge of history, culture and religion with genuine warmth.
- Drivers across both countries are professional, punctual and navigate chaotic traffic safely; excellent standard throughout the trip.
- Budget heavily for extras: nearly all activities beyond one elephant ride require cash payments, adding around £20-25 per person daily.
- India hotels are poorly located in rough areas with thin towels, loose outlets, broken fixtures and insecticide smells; Nepal's Hotel Moonlight far superior.
