About this trip
Five days on Mauritius, covering the beaches everyone pictures but also the parts of the island that don't make the postcards - waterfalls, national parks and the capital's markets and streets.
You'll spend time in the water and out of it, from a lagoon boat trip to a walk through Black River National Park, with stops at historical and geological sites in the south along the way.
It's a short trip that tries to give you a proper sense of the island rather than just a beach week, mixing culture, nature and a bit of downtime.
What you'll do
- Visit Grand River South East Waterfall
- Spend a day at the private Ile aux Cerfs lagoon
- Take in historical and geological sites in the south region
- Walk through Black River National Park
- See Chamarel Waterfall
- Explore the capital, Port Louis, and its culture
- Five days covers a lot of ground, so expect a fairly packed pace with a different site most days
- Good fit if you want a mix of beach time, nature and history rather than a pure lie-on-the-sand break
