About this trip
Seven days across Jordan that move from Amman's street life to Roman ruins, Petra's sandstone canyons, a night under the stars in Wadi Rum, and a float in the Dead Sea. It's a full itinerary, but it's built to show you the country in layers — history, desert, and coast — rather than rush you between photo stops.
You start in Amman and the hilltop town of As-Salt, then head north to Jerash before looping back to explore the capital properly, including its Citadel, Roman Theatre, and a street food tasting. The route then runs south along the King's Highway, taking in Madaba's mosaics, Mount Nebo, and Shobak Castle on the way to Petra.
The back half is where the landscape takes over: a full day in Petra, an overnight in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum with a jeep safari through the desert, and a final stretch at the Dead Sea to float and cover yourself in mud before flying home from Amman.
What you'll do
- Walk the Daily Life Trail through As-Salt's Ottoman-era streets and souqs
- Explore the Roman ruins of Jerash and Amman's Citadel and Roman Theatre
- Spend a full day in Petra, from the Siq to the Treasury and up to the Monastery
- Overnight in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum with a jeep safari through the desert
- Float in the Dead Sea and try the mineral-rich mud
- Optional canyon trek through Wadi Mujib's water-filled gorges
- Fast-paced with a different focus most days — history, desert, and sea all in one week
- Standard price uses 3 to 4-star hotels, with a superior upgrade available for Amman, Petra, and the Dead Sea (Wadi Rum's camp stays the same either way)
- Some activities, like camel riding, stargazing extras, and the Wadi Mujib trek, are optional and not automatically included
Worth it if you want exceptional guides and iconic desert sites covered efficiently. Think twice if you need reliable hot water and chilled drinks on the coach.
- Guides Omar, Amer, and Youssof consistently praised for encyclopedic knowledge, treating guests like family.
- Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea, and Jerash deliver on expectations; early camel rides and desert experiences genuinely memorable.
- Water infrastructure unreliable: cold showers at certain hours, broken fridge on coach means warm bottled water throughout.
- Small groups mean flexibility for tailor-made changes; one pair had just two people and added Aqaba days.
