Highlights of Jordan

Start & end in Amman 8 days Up to 16

About this trip

Eight days across Jordan's biggest sights, from Roman ruins to desert canyons to the Dead Sea, for anyone who wants the highlights without weeks to spare.

You'll spend a night under canvas in Wadi Rum, eating dinner as the desert changes colour around you, before moving on to Petra to see the ancient city carved into rock. There's also time built in to float in the Dead Sea and let the minerals do their work.

It's a fully guided group trip, easy-paced despite covering a lot of ground, and works well if you want history, landscape, and a bit of adventure in one short window.

What you'll do

  • Overnight in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum
  • Watch the desert light shift over dinner in Wadi Rum
  • Explore Petra, including the walk in through the Siq
  • Float in the Dead Sea
  • Take in Jordan's ancient sites and lost cities
Good to know
  • Easy pace, but the itinerary moves through several regions in eight days
  • Fully guided throughout, good for first-time visitors to Jordan
  • Includes a Christmas and New Year departure option
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you're prepared for hidden costs and value immersive desert landscapes. Think twice if you dislike surprises with pricing and want meals fully included.

  • Guide Mays and driver were exceptional; Petra's Siq reveal and Wadi Rum Bedouin meals genuinely unforgettable.
  • Meals labeled optional aren't really optional; you're taken to preset restaurants without pricing info upfront.
  • Extra costs opaque: 40 JOD tipping request on day one, unclear Wadi Rum pricing (charged 100 JOD vs quoted 70 JOD).
  • Amman hotel lobby looks four-star; rooms feel two-star. Dead Sea time only two hours despite long drive there.
