About this trip
Nine days across Jordan, moving from Amman's ancient sites to the carved tombs of Petra and the desert sands of Wadi Rum. This is a fully guided group trip built around the country's big historical draws, with a moderate pace that leaves room to actually take them in.
You get two full days at Petra, enough time to move beyond the Treasury and into the wider site's tombs and temples. A night in the desert at a traditional Bedouin camp adds a different rhythm to the trip, away from ruins and museums.
Along the way there's a strong thread of everyday Jordanian life alongside the ancient history, from Roman remains to Byzantine mosaics around Amman.
What you'll do
- Spend two full days exploring the tombs and temples of Petra
- Sleep at a traditional Bedouin camp on the dunes of Wadi Rum
- Explore Roman ruins and Byzantine-era mosaics in and around Amman
- Travel through Jordan's desert landscapes with a fully guided group
- Moderate pace with two full days built in at Petra alone
- Includes a desert camp stay, so expect a night with simpler facilities
Worth it if you want efficient coverage of Jordan's highlights with standout guides. Think twice if you need leisurely pacing, premium comfort on long bus days, or authentic Jordanian dining.
- Guides consistently exceptional—Abdullah, Musa, Zuhair, Saleh named for genuine knowledge, attentiveness, cultural storytelling.
- Long daily bus hours in uncomfortable coaches; itinerary feels accelerated with limited free time to explore independently.
- Breakfast at Petra hotel poor quality; buffet-heavy meals don't showcase authentic Jordanian cuisine properly.
- Two days in Petra essential—first guided tour orients you, second day allows independent exploration of lesser-known sites.
