About this trip
Six days on the road through the Balkans, tracing a route from Dubrovnik down to Athens with a fresh stop most nights. It's a trip built around covering ground and taking in a string of very different cities, from Adriatic coastline to Greek antiquity.
You'll move through Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia and Greece, with guided stops along the way rather than long stretches of free time. The pace is steady but the variety is the point — old walled towns, lakeside scenery, cliff-top monasteries and finally the Acropolis.

- Explore Dubrovnik's old town with an optional extra day
- Visit Kotor's historic sites on the Montenegrin coast
- Take a panoramic city tour of Tirana
- Spend time by Lake Ohrid, with the option to visit Sveti Naum Monastery
- Pass through Kastoria en route to the cliff-top monasteries of Meteora
- Tour the Acropolis and Parthenon in Athens
- Fast-paced — you change base most nights and cover several countries in six days
- Standards of comfort, roads and English-speaking staff can vary noticeably as you cross borders
- Some stops (Dubrovnik extra day, Sveti Naum) are optional add-ons rather than included
