About this trip
A week-long loop from Tangier that covers a lot of ground — coast, mountains, imperial cities and the Sahara — with a fixed itinerary and a guide handling logistics throughout.
You will cross the Rif mountains into Chefchaouen, take in Roman ruins and the imperial cities of Fes and Meknes, then head over the Atlas via Ifrane and the cedar forests to the desert at Merzouga. Camel riding and a night under the stars in the Sahara sit roughly at the midpoint.
From there it loops back through the Todra and Dades gorges, Kasbah country, the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and Marrakech, before finishing via Casablanca and Rabat back in Tangier.

Worth it if you want a comprehensive Morocco overview with genuinely excellent drivers and guides. Think twice if you dislike long driving days and want luxury accommodation—expect basic guesthouses and remote villages.
- Drivers consistently named as standout—Ayoub, Hassan, Khalid, Karim, Jamal—knowledgeable, safe, culturally generous.
- Itinerary hits genuine variety: Imperial Cities, souks, Sahara sunrise/sunset, Atlas Mountains, Berber villages, Todra Gorge.
- Significant driving hours, especially if condensed into 6 days; one group noted this but still loved it overall.
- Small group sizes (4-6 people) foster genuine camaraderie; accommodation basic but authentic, occasionally requiring quick fixes.
