Cairo, Luxor & Desert Safari Tour (GEM Museum Visit)

This eleven-day trip takes you from the pyramids at Giza to the temples of Luxor, with a proper mix of city time, desert camping and an overnight sleeping train thrown in. It is fully guided throughout, so the history is explained as you go rather than left to a guidebook.

You get five nights based in Cairo to cover the big sights at a reasonable pace, then head south to Luxor for the temples and tombs on the east and west banks of the Nile. Two nights camping in the desert and two more on the sleeping train break up the routine and give the trip a different rhythm from a standard city-to-city tour.
