Sai Gon Highlights 5 days

Five days covering Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta, mixing wartime history with river life. You get a grounding in the city's French colonial landmarks and its more recent history, then head out to the delta for a slower, greener pace.

The Cu Chi Tunnels are a highlight, giving a real sense of the scale and ingenuity of the tunnel network used during the war. Back in the city, you take in the main historic sites before travelling out to the delta.

In the Mekong Delta you visit the islands, try local tropical fruit, watch coconut candy being made by hand, and see the Cai Rang floating market in action — a good look at how people actually live and trade along the river.
