About this trip
Nine days covering three very different sides of Thailand: the capital, the north, and the coast. You start in Bangkok with proper sightseeing and a private long-tail boat ride through the city's canals, a good way to see a quieter, more local side of a busy city.
From there you head up to rural Chiang Mai for a few days, a change of pace from Bangkok's traffic and temples, before flying south to Phuket for beach time, swimming and boating on Thailand's largest island.
What you'll do
- Guided sightseeing around Bangkok
- Private long-tail boat tour through Bangkok's canals
- Several days based in rural Chiang Mai
- Flight south to Phuket
- Swimming and boating on Phuket's beaches
- Partially guided, with a private guide for some Bangkok touring
- Covers three distinct regions, so expect a domestic flight partway through
- Suits those who want a mix of city sightseeing, countryside and beach time rather than one focus
Worth it if you want seamless logistics and expert local guides. Think twice if you're fussy about hotel quality or prefer a slower pace.
- Tour guides consistently professional and knowledgeable; Whatsapp support responsive and genuinely helpful throughout.
- Elephant Jungle sanctuary was standout highlight; smaller group made it personalized rather than another tourist cattle run.
- Bangkok and Phuket hotels noticeably mediocre; stuffy Bangkok rooms, poor breakfast quality in Phuket despite nice views.
- Itinerary jam-packed with temples and activities; some travellers found pacing rushed, though most appreciated seeing everything.
