About this trip
Three separate day tours bundled together, taking you around Iceland's south and west by mini-bus in a small group over three days.
You cover the Golden Circle, the South Coast, and head out on a dedicated Northern Lights hunt, with a driver-guide throughout each leg.
Accommodation isn't part of the package, so you'll need to sort your own base and get to the pick-up points each day.
What you'll do
- Visit Thingvellir National Park, Iceland's UNESCO-listed site on the Golden Circle route
- See the South Coast's basalt columns and black sands of Reynisfjara Beach
- Join a dedicated Northern Lights expedition after dark
- Travel in a small group aboard a compact mini-bus
- Accommodation is not included, only the three day tours
- Small-group format on a mini-bus, not a large coach
- Suits travellers who already have a base in Reykjavik and want add-on day trips
Worth it if you want hassle-free access to Iceland's big-hitters in winter with solid guides. Think twice if you're aurora-hunting—weather cancellations are common and sightings aren't guaranteed.
- Guide quality makes or breaks it; Zack, Addi, Karlo and Siggi earned genuine praise for knowledge, flexibility and going the extra mile.
- December daylight is brutal; arriving at Þingvellir at 4:30pm meant pitch black and zero visibility despite good planning elsewhere.
- Aurora tours cancelled twice due to weather, and even when rescheduled thrice, no lights appeared—sightings aren't promised.
- Pickup takes 20-40 mins door-to-door; stops are sometimes rushed (15-20 mins) so you'll photograph, not linger or explore properly.
