About this trip
Six days across northern and central Morocco, moving from the Rif mountains down to the Sahara and on to Marrakech. Expect a lot of ground covered — mountain towns, desert camps and old kasbahs all in one trip.
You'll pass through Chefchaouen's blue-washed lanes, spend time in Fes, then head into the desert for a camel trek and a night under the stars before crossing gorge country back towards Marrakech.
It's a route built around variety rather than lingering — mountains, medina, desert and gorges all get their turn.
What you'll do
- Wander the blue-painted streets of Chefchaouen
- Explore the old medina and cultural sites of Fes
- Ride a camel into the Sahara Desert and camp overnight
- Trek through the Dades and Todra Gorges
- Visit Ouarzazate and the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou
- Finish in Marrakech
- Fast-paced — you cover a lot of distance in six days with a new base most nights
- Includes a night camping in the Sahara, so be ready for basic desert conditions
- Good fit if you want a broad first look at Morocco rather than deep time in one place
