About this trip
Two weeks across Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, pairing the Silk Road cities of the former with the mountains and lakes of the latter. You get centuries-old architecture and wide, open landscapes in the same trip.
In Uzbekistan the focus is on Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, with their madrasahs and old town centres. Crossing into Tajikistan, the pace shifts towards nature, with time in the Fann Mountains and around Dushanbe.
This is a private, partially guided trip, so there's room to move at your own speed rather than follow a fixed group schedule.
