The Grand Southern Safari

This 20-day overland trip runs from Cape Town to Victoria Falls, crossing South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe in one long sweep. It moves through the Cederberg mountains and Namaqualand before heading into Namibia's deserts, then north to the wildlife-rich areas around Etosha, the Okavango Delta and the Chobe River.

Expect a mix of big landscapes and big wildlife: red dunes at sunrise, canyon rim walks, salt pans, and rivers thick with elephants. Travel is by specialist overland vehicle with an experienced driver-guide and cook, and accommodation switches between camping and lodges depending on location.

It ends in Victoria Falls, with time built in for extras like craft markets or a helicopter flight over Batoka Gorge if you want them.
