About this trip
This 12-day trip runs from Cape Town into Namibia, covering some of southwestern Africa's most varied landscapes, from city streets to desert dunes and canyon country.
You'll spend time on your feet in the Namib desert, look out over Fish River Canyon, and head into Etosha National Park for wildlife drives. A CEO travels with the group and handles the logistics along the way.
Accommodation shifts between hotels, guesthouses and camping, so this is as much about adapting to the landscape as seeing it.
What you'll do
- Explore Cape Town before heading north
- Climb dunes in the Namib desert, among the highest in the world
- Look out over Fish River Canyon, Africa's largest canyon
- Go on wildlife drives through Etosha National Park
- Camp out under the stars as part of the route
- Accommodation mixes hotels, guesthouses and camping, so pack for both comfort and basic set-ups
- Covers long distances between South Africa and Namibia, so expect substantial travel days
- Group trip led by a CEO who manages the day-to-day planning
Worth it if you're keen on Namibia's raw landscapes and value an exceptional guide. Think twice if you need a slower pace or dislike early starts and camping heat.
- Guide quality genuinely transforms the trip. Chris, Barry, Lesley, Peter and MacG repeatedly praised for knowledge, professionalism and reassuring competence.
- Covers 3000 km in 11 days with daily early starts and long bus rides. You'll see less deeply but move constantly through landscapes.
- Camping in Namibian heat and early mornings are genuine discomforts. Not ideal if you prefer slower, more comfortable accommodation.
- Group dynamics matter here. Reviews highlight the traveller mix and shared experience as key to enjoyment alongside scenery and guides.
