About this trip
Three weeks through Mexico's ancient and colonial heartland, from the noise of Mexico City to the calm of Oaxaca's plazas and the jungle-shrouded ruins of Palenque, before crossing borders into Guatemala and Belize.
This is a proper cross-country journey by coach, with plenty of ground covered and a good mix of cities, ruins, markets and local food along the way. Choosing a Day of the Dead departure means you'll be in Mexico for the celebrations themselves, rather than just hearing about them.
Expect ancient sites, colonial towns, canyon scenery and a genuine taste of daily life, all at a moderate pace with private rooms throughout.
