About this trip
A week aboard a traditional caique with Captain Thanos, mixing island hopping by boat with walking through hillside villages and olive groves. The rhythm is simple: mornings on foot, afternoons on deck, evenings at harbourside tavernas.
You'll cover ground on foot as much as by sea, taking in fishing villages, ancient ruins and coastal paths, then cool off with a swim or snorkel straight from the boat.
Evenings are unhurried, with local wine, home-style Greek cooking and the sun going down over the harbour.
What you'll do
- Cruise the Greek islands aboard the traditional caique MV Isidoros II
- Walk the hills above Panagia, overlooking the fjord and fishing village below
- Visit ancient sites including the Dragon Houses and the Acropolis at Castelli Hill
- Swim or snorkel straight off the boat in the Aegean
- Watch the sunset from harbourside tavernas over local wine and Greek cooking
- Easy pace, suited to those who want a mix of light walking and boat time rather than serious trekking
- You're based on the boat throughout, with private rooms, so no changing hotels each night
- Small group, fully guided throughout
Worth it if you want intimate group travel with a genuinely knowledgeable guide and don't mind tight boat cabins. Think twice if you need predictable itineraries or prefer larger vessels.
- Thanos consistently transforms the experience with deep local knowledge and excellent weather problem-solving.
- Small-boat intimacy creates real group bonding and access to local restaurants most tourists miss.
- Cabin accommodation is genuinely tiny; itinerary changes due to weather are inevitable, not occasional.
- Heavy walking schedule daily with swimming and learning packed in; suits active types, not relaxers.
