About this trip
A week of day hikes based in the Chamonix Valley, using the cable car network to reach high trails without the strain of multi-day backpacking. You stay put in one chalet hotel, so evenings are settled and there's proper time to unwind.
The walking covers sections of the Tour du Mont Blanc, with big views of snowy peaks, glaciers and granite spires rather than long slogs between camps. The hike to Lac Blanc is the standout day, taking in the full Mont Blanc range, icefields and wildflower meadows.
There's a free day built in, so you can choose between the Aiguille du Midi cable car for panoramic views or the cog railway up to Montenvers to walk inside a glacier. Otherwise it's a case of hiking by day and relaxing in Chamonix's cafes by evening.
