About this trip
This trek takes you to Fairy Meadows, a grassland close to one of Nanga Parbat's base camps in the Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan. It's a trip built around big views rather than technical climbing — you get close-up sight of the 8,126m peak, walk through small valleys and meadows, and spend nights under genuinely clear, dark skies.
Getting there is as much a part of the experience as the trek itself. You'll drive along the Indus River, then take a jeep along the Raikot Bridge to Tatu Village track, one of the more hair-raising roads in the world, driven by locals who make it look routine.
It's a gentle, accessible trek rather than a demanding mountain expedition, and suits people who want to be immersed in dramatic scenery without needing prior trekking experience.
