About this trip
Eighteen days across Chile, Argentina and Brazil, with the Andes running through much of the route as a constant backdrop. The trip mixes outdoor activity with some of the continent's best-known sights, moving from mountain country to waterfalls to city.
You start in Pucón, a base for adventure sports in the Chilean Andes, before heading to Iguassu Falls to see the falls up close. From there the trip continues to Rio de Janeiro, with free time built in to explore the city at your own pace.
It's fully guided throughout and rated easy, so the adventure elements are accessible rather than gruelling, with private rooms for those who want their own space.
What you'll do
- Try adventure sports around Pucón in the Chilean Andes
- Stand in the mist at Iguassu Falls
- Cross from Chile into Argentina through Andes scenery
- Explore Rio de Janeiro with free time to do it your way
- Rated easy despite the adventure-sport focus, so no serious fitness needed
- Private rooms are included rather than shared dorms
- Covers three countries in 18 days, so expect a fair amount of travel between stops
Worth it if you're after scenery, culture and two world wonders with solid organisation. Think twice if you want included activities or long stops in cities.
- Landscape and cultural content genuinely impressive; two world wonders plus Andes deliver visual rewards.
- Almost everything beyond transport and lodging costs extra; activities are add-ons, not included in tour price.
- Long travel days mean rushed city segments; Santiago got 2 hours, Valparaiso just a few, not ideal for exploration.
- Professional tour guides and group flow are strong; some accommodation varies wildly in quality between locations.
