Morocco Kasbahs & Desert

Casablanca → Marrakesh 8 days Up to 14

About this trip

Eight days across Morocco's highlights, from the kasbahs of the south to the old medinas of Fès and Marrakech. It moves quickly, but covers a lot of ground for a short trip.

You'll cross desert and mountains, ride camels into the Sahara for a night under canvas, and get lost in the tangle of alleys that make up two of Morocco's most storied cities.

There's a little free time built in to wander on your own, but this is mainly a guided, group-paced look at the country's history and landscape rather than a slow-travel trip.

What you'll do

  • Ride a camel into the Sahara dunes and camp overnight
  • Explore the high-walled kasbahs of the south
  • Wander the medina and souks of Fès
  • Get lost in Marrakech's old town alleys
  • Cross the Atlas Mountains between desert and city
Good to know
  • Fast-paced — expect to change location often over the eight days
  • Some free time is included for independent exploring, but most days are guided
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you get a great guide and accept accommodation varies wildly. Think twice if you're budget-conscious about tips and want consistent comfort.

  • Guide quality makes or breaks this tour—exceptional ones earn 10-star praise and genuine friendship.
  • AC fails intermittently on the bus; some guides allegedly pressure group meals and expect set tip amounts upfront.
  • Hotel standards swing dramatically trip-to-trip; balloon rides marked up heavily by G Adventures compared to booking independently.
  • Eight days covers substantial ground with varied experiences; group dynamics and local support matter more than logistics.
