About this trip
Six days across northern Morocco, moving from the coast through the Rif mountains and into the imperial cities, with a good mix of history, architecture and street life along the way.
You start in Tangier, taking in the medina and Kasbah, then head up to Chefchaouen, the blue-washed hill town that's as much about wandering and photographing as ticking off sights. From there it's on to Casablanca, Rabat, the Roman ruins at Volubilis and finally Fez.
It's a fully guided group tour with an easy pace, built around covering a lot of Morocco's cultural highlights without having to plan the logistics yourself.
What you'll do
- Wander Tangier's medina, Kasbah and the clifftop Cap Spartel
- Explore the blue-painted streets of Chefchaouen
- See the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca
- Visit the Hassan Tower, Royal Palace and Oudaya Kasbah in Rabat
- Walk the Roman ruins at Volubilis
- Discover Fez's ancient medina, Bou Inania Madrasa and Bou Jeloud Gardens
- Covers six cities in six days, so expect a fair amount of travel time between stops
- Easy-paced and fully guided, suited to those who want the sights covered without organising the route themselves
Worth it if you're budget-conscious and comfortable with long travel days. Think twice if you want seamless pre-trip comms or dislike being steered into shops.
- Local guides vary in quality, but standouts like Bashir and Fatima deliver genuine cultural insight and care.
- Pre-tour communication is minimal; you won't know hotel details or itinerary specifics until days before arrival.
- Expect 8-12 hour van days between cities; some groups paid £100 extra per person to fly instead of endure them.
- Carpet, scarf, and leather shops are baked into stops; politely declining repeatedly becomes necessary.
