About this trip
Ten days through Himachal Pradesh's hill towns, finishing in Amritsar, with a mix of mountain scenery, temple visits and Tibetan Buddhist culture. You move between Shimla, Manali and Dharamshala, then head down to Punjab for the Golden Temple.
The pace is easy and the setting is calm rather than hectic, with time spent in the hill stations' quieter, wooded surroundings rather than rushing between sights.
It's a private, partially guided trip, so you'll have a guide for key visits but some flexibility in how the days run.
What you'll do
- Visit the Jakhu temple in Shimla
- See Hadimba Temple, Manu Temple, the Tibetan Monastery and Vashisht village in Manali
- Drive up to Rohtang Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world at around 13,000 ft
- Explore the Tibetan Museum and Namgyal Monastery in Dharamshala

- Visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar and watch the beating retreat ceremony at the India-Pakistan border
- Easy-paced trip suited to families and those wanting a relaxed mountain break rather than a fast-moving itinerary
