About this trip

This 11-day trip covers Nepal's classic highlights at an easy pace, from Kathmandu's heritage sites to mountain viewpoints and down to the subtropical plains. It suits families or private groups who want a broad taste of the country without any strenuous trekking.

You move through very different landscapes and cultures in a short time: the temples and squares of Kathmandu Valley, hill stations with Himalayan views, the wildlife-rich lowlands of Chitwan, Buddha's birthplace in Lumbini, and the lakeside town of Pokhara before circling back through Bandipur.

It's a comfortable, partially guided sightseeing tour rather than an adventure trip, with private transport between stops and a mix of culture, nature and mountain scenery worked into each day.

What you'll do

  • Tour Kathmandu Valley's UNESCO-listed heritage sites
  • Ride the cable car and take in views from Chandragiri hill station
  • Watch the Langtang and Jugal ranges from Nagarkot
  • Look for rhino, crocodile and tiger in Chitwan National Park
  • Visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha
  • See Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range from Pokhara
Good to know
  • Easy-paced sightseeing trip, suitable for all age groups including families
  • Private, partially guided format with a fair amount of road travel between stops
  • Can be done at any time of year
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you value personalised service, excellent guides, and authentic cultural encounters. Think twice if rough roads and long travel days between sites concern you.

  • Owner Bhagwat personally adapts trips, checks in constantly, and welcomes guests warmly; guides like Kapil become genuine friends.
  • Standout experiences: rhino spotting metres away in Chitwan, meditation with monks in Lumbini, skilled driver navigation despite chaotic roads.
  • Nepalese roads are catastrophic; longer journeys between destinations are entertaining but physically demanding travel days.
  • Food not included in most packages, though street food and local restaurants are cheap, delicious, and readily available everywhere.
