About this trip
Leh and Ladakh sit high in the Himalaya, a landscape of bare mountains, Buddhist monasteries perched on hilltops, and old palaces watching over the valleys below. This 9-day trip is a fully guided run through the region's best-known sights, with time built in to adjust to the altitude.
Green only appears in patches here, along rivers and irrigated fields, which makes the scale of the surrounding rock and sky even more striking. You'll also head out to three of Ladakh's high-altitude lakes, each with its own colour and character.
What you'll do
- Explore Leh's old town and palace
- Visit Buddhist monasteries set on hilltops around Ladakh
- See the changing light on Pangong Lake
- Visit Tso Moriri and Tso Kar, two of the region's remote high-altitude lakes
- Take in the stark mountain scenery of the Ladakh valleys
- Ladakh sits at high altitude, so the pace allows time to acclimatise
- Rated easy, so no technical trekking or climbing experience needed
- Suits families and groups travelling together
