About this trip
Newfoundland's coastline, fjords and wildlife are the draw here, and this eight-day route takes you westbound across the island with a guide who knows the place well.
You'll move through historic towns and some genuinely dramatic scenery, shaped over thousands of years by wind, ice and sea, with stops built in to meet locals along the way.
It's an easy-paced trip by design, so the focus is on taking in the landscape and wildlife rather than covering ground fast.
What you'll do
- Watch for icebergs drifting past St. John's, known as the Iceberg Capital of the World (spring season)
- Go whale watching off the Newfoundland coast
- Spot puffins at one of North America's best viewing sites
- Explore historic towns set against Newfoundland's coastal scenery
- Travel with a guide who knows the region's history and wildlife
- Easy pace overall, though included activities involve a moderate amount of walking
- No high level of fitness needed
- This same route also runs eastbound, from Deer Lake to St. John's
