About this trip
Eight days through the Canadian Rockies and southern British Columbia, travelling by coach with a guide along the way. You cover the Icefields Parkway and spend time in Banff, Jasper and Yoho National Parks, with a stop in Whistler to round things off.
Days are built around easy hikes, lake swims and waterfall stops, with chances to spot wildlife and learn about the region's Indigenous cultures. Whistler adds a change of pace, with its resort town feel left over from the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Optional activities are available throughout if you want to add something more active to the mix.
What you'll do
- Drive the Icefields Parkway through Banff, Jasper and Yoho National Parks
- Easy hikes with mountain views
- Swim in glacial lakes
- Stop at waterfalls along the route
- Spot wildlife native to the Rockies
- Visit Whistler, host town of the 2010 Winter Olympics
- Coach-based tour with easy-grade hiking, suited to those who want the scenery without technical trekking
- Optional add-on activities are offered but not included as standard
Worth it if you want stunning Rocky Mountain scenery and an exceptional guide. Think twice if accommodation quality and included meals matter to you.
- Guide Mike or Jeremy consistently delivers engaging, knowledgeable tours with excellent organisation and genuine care for group experience.
- Scenery is genuinely spectacular—lakes, waterfalls, forest hikes, Northern Lights sightings, and hidden spots each distinctly worth experiencing.
- Accommodation quality is hit-or-miss; hostels poorly selected, rooms chaotic, and laundry unavailable anywhere on the itinerary.
- Food included is minimal and mediocre except guide-made tortillas; don't expect quality meals or sufficient F&B coverage in budget.
