About this trip
This 13-day road trip runs from San Francisco down to Los Angeles, threading together some of the West's best-known national parks along the way. Expect desert canyons, mountain ranges and long stretches of open road, all with a group and a local leader who knows the route.
Nights are split between camping and budget hotels, with a stretch along Route 66 and two nights in Las Vegas breaking up the wilderness stops. It's a trip that mixes proper outdoor time with a bit of neon glitz.
