Vietnam Intro

Hanoi → Ho Chi Minh City 12 days Up to 22

About this trip

Twelve days moving through Vietnam from the chaos of Hanoi down to the waterways of the Mekong Delta, with a guide alongside you the whole way.

You'll get a mix of history, culture and hands-on activity — kayaking and crab fishing on Ha Long Bay, a cooking class, the Cu Chi tunnels, and time in a traditional village and the Mekong Delta's rivers and rice fields.

It's a fully guided group trip, easy-paced, aimed at giving you a proper first look at the country rather than deep-diving into any one region.

What you'll do

  • Explore Hanoi's old quarter and street life
  • Kayak Ha Long Bay and try crab fishing with local fishermen
  • Take a Vietnamese cooking class
  • Descend into the Cu Chi tunnels used during the Vietnam War
  • Cruise the rivers and rice fields of the Mekong Delta
  • Visit a traditional local village
Good to know
  • Rated easy, so no specific fitness or experience needed
  • A group leader travels with you from the start and helps with onward travel
  • Covers a broad sweep of Vietnam rather than lingering in one place
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want Vietnam's highlights sorted fast with a solid group. Think twice if you need flexibility or prefer a slower pace.

  • Activities included in price: Halong Bay, cooking classes, mud fishing, Mekong Delta homestay all bundled in.
  • Tour leaders consistently praised for being knowledgeable, organised and genuinely good company throughout twelve days.
  • Twelve days is tight; you fit a lot in but some felt it rushes Vietnam rather than letting it breathe.
  • Small group size and mix of ages meant everyone gelled, which made the shared experience genuinely stronger.
