About this trip
Two days in Akagera National Park, where Rwanda swaps its famous hills for savannah and pockets of forest. This is the country's classic big-game safari, with landscapes that shift as you move through the park.
You'll be watching for the major mammals here — elephants, buffalo, hippos, and if you're lucky, lions and leopards. It's a short trip, so expect a focused couple of days of game viewing rather than a long, drawn-out expedition.
What you'll do
- Game drives through Akagera's savannah and forest habitats
- Spot elephants, buffalo and hippos
- Watch for lions and leopards
- See varied terrain across a single park
- A short, focused safari rather than an extended wildlife circuit
- Sightings of predators like lions and leopards aren't guaranteed
