About this trip
Eleven days across two countries, moving by 4x4 through the Rift Valley and down into the Serengeti ecosystem, with a guide who stays with you the whole way. This is the classic Kenya-Tanzania combination, giving you equal time on both sides of the border rather than rushing one to favour the other.
You start in Nairobi and work through Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara before crossing into Tanzania for the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire. Expect long game drives, wide savannah views, and the kind of animal density that these parks are known for — lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo all realistically on the cards.
The vehicle itself is part of the setup: a pop-up roof 4x4 with a cooler box, radio, power outlets and first aid kit, built for hours on safari tracks.
What you'll do
- Sail past bathing hippos and grazing wildlife on Lake Naivasha
- Walk among grazing antelope and waterfowl on Crescent Island Sanctuary
- Track rhino and flamingos at Lake Nakuru's acacia-lined shores
- Watch the wildebeest and zebra migration cross the Masai Mara
- Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for dense, concentrated wildlife
- Spot elephant herds and baobab trees in Tarangire National Park
- Camping-style trip with long daily game drives across both countries
- You can choose to start at Amboseli and finish in Arusha instead of the standard Nairobi start and end
- Runs to a fixed route through six major parks, so pace is steady rather than relaxed
