About this trip
This 20-day tour runs the length of Vietnam and on into Cambodia, following the Mekong from the mountains of the north down to the temples of Angkor. You start in Hanoi and finish in Siem Reap, taking in cities, coast, delta and countryside along the way.
Expect a mix of trekking, boat trips and history: village walks around Sapa, a cruise on Halong Bay, river trips and ruins near Hoi An, imperial Hue, the tunnels and waterways around Ho Chi Minh City, then a border crossing into Cambodia for Phnom Penh and the Angkor temples.
It's fully guided throughout, with a steady, easy pace and a focus on local food and culture rather than ticking off sights at speed.

- Group bookings can collapse last minute; one pair ended up alone when six others cancelled before departure.
- Some guides struggle with English clarity; communication quality varies despite strong local expertise.
- Early morning transfers and tight coordination are standard; logistics run reliably on time throughout.
