About this trip
Ten days across Vietnam, from the Mekong Delta in the south to Halong Bay in the north, with the history and pace of the country laid out in between rather than rushed through.
You start in Ho Chi Minh City, head out to the Mekong Delta and the Cu Chi Tunnels, then move up to Hoi An and the ruins of My Son before finishing in Hanoi with a night on Halong Bay. It's a proper south-to-north route, guided throughout, so you can just show up and take it in.
Good for a first look at Vietnam — the cities, the war history, the old towns and the coast all get their turn, with comfortable places to sleep and someone else handling the logistics.
What you'll do
- Ride a riverboat through the Mekong Delta and see local daily life along the water
- Walk through the Cu Chi Tunnels used during the Vietnam War
- Wander Hoi An's old town and take a boat trip on the Thu Bon River
- See the Cham ruins at My Son Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage site
- Cruise Halong Bay overnight with time for kayaking and swimming
- Spend a full day sightseeing in Hanoi
- Covers a lot of ground south to north, so expect some travel days between stops
- Includes one overnight cruise on Halong Bay as the trip's final stretch
- Departures run weekly from Saigon, so dates are flexible
Worth it if you value seamless logistics, attentive coordination, and seeing Vietnam's highlights efficiently. Think twice if you need more flexibility in itineraries or have strict hotel standards.
- Danny and the coordination team are genuinely exceptional—24/7 availability, prompt responses, and hands-on support including hospital visits.
- Logistics across three cities with domestic flights handled smoothly; airport pickups and dropoffs consistently reliable and punctual.
- Final itineraries arrive only days before departure, forcing last-minute changes; one Da Lat hotel failed 3-star standards, another was marginal.
- KOI Resort rooms surprisingly cramped despite five-star rating; breakfast choice limited for Western palates in some locations.
