From Livingstone: 3 days - Explore Lochinvar National Park for bird-watching excursion

Three days out of Livingstone built around Lochinvar National Park, one of the lesser-known corners of Zambia and a serious draw if birds are your thing. Over 400 species have been recorded here, including the wattled crane, and most of your time is spent around Chunga Lagoon where the birdlife concentrates.

It is not a big-game park, but the Kafue Lechwe, a rare antelope subspecies, grazes in good numbers across the Kafue Flats and lagoon edges, so there is wildlife beyond the birds. You will also get out on foot along the lagoon and take in a few historical spots inside the park.

This suits people who want a slower, focused wildlife trip rather than a classic safari, and who do not mind the park being quiet on tourist infrastructure in exchange for genuinely under-visited birding ground.
