Marrakesh → Meknes 6 days Up to 12

About this trip

Six days across Morocco, from Marrakech to Fes, taking in mountains, gorges and desert along the way. You cover a lot of ground, but the route is built around the country's real landmarks rather than rushing between cities.

Highlights include the High Atlas Mountains, the UNESCO site of Ait Ben Haddou, and a night in a desert camp near Merzouga after a camel ride out to it. From there you head north through cedar forests to finish in Fes, exploring its old medina.

This is a private, fully guided trip, so it moves at your pace rather than a fixed group schedule, and it's pitched as easy going and family-friendly.

What you'll do

  • Explore Marrakech's souks and historic sites
  • Visit Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate's film studios and Kasbah Taourirt
  • Drive through the Valley of Roses, Dades Gorge and Todra Gorge
  • Camel ride and overnight stay in a desert camp at Merzouga
  • Watch the sunrise over the dunes and visit Rissani's souk
  • Pass through the Ziz Valley and Azrou's cedar forests before reaching Fes
Good to know
  • Private and fully guided, so the itinerary and pace can flex around your group
  • Long travel days between stops given the distance covered in six days
  • Rated easy, and suited to families
What travellers actually say

Worth it if you want Morocco's highlights efficiently covered in six days with strong logistics. Think twice if you prefer a slower pace—it's a whirlwind itinerary.

  • Desert overnight in a luxury camp and camel rides create genuinely memorable experiences, consistently highlighted as trip highlights.
  • Drivers (Sabir, Abdo, Saber, Mohamed, Salah) are repeatedly praised for professionalism, local knowledge, and making the journey feel personal and safe.
  • Six days covering medinas, landscapes, and Sahara is objectively a lot of ground; described as a whirlwind rather than leisurely travel.
  • Logistics are seamless throughout—no travel stress, comfortable 4x4s, stunning riads, and well-paced itinerary that avoids feeling like box-ticking.
