About this trip
Nine days across Morocco's imperial cities and the Sahara, moving from Marrakech's narrow lanes and souks to the mountains and out to the desert dunes. It's a mix of city wandering, mountain scenery, and a proper desert night under canvas.
You'll take in Fes and Rabat alongside Marrakech, cross the Atlas and Rif mountains for the views, and stop at Kasbahs along the way. There's time built in for markets, food, and simply taking in the pace of everyday Moroccan life.
This is a guided group tour, so the route and stops are set, with the desert stretch and camel ride as the centrepiece of the trip.
What you'll do
- Wander the souks and narrow streets of Marrakech
- Explore the imperial cities of Fes and Rabat
- Cross the Atlas and Rif Mountains for the views
- Visit world heritage Kasbahs en route
- Ride camels into the Sahara dunes
- Spend a night in the desert
- Fully guided group tour, so the itinerary is fixed
- Suits families and those wanting a relaxed pace rather than a fast-moving trip
- Involves camel riding and a night out in the desert, worth knowing if that's not your thing
Worth it if you want diverse Moroccan landscapes and can handle long driving days. Think twice if you need crystal-clear pre-trip communication or have safety concerns about driver quality.
- Driver quality makes or breaks it: Ismail and Zakaria created genuinely safe, friendly experiences; others didn't.
- Last-minute accommodation changes without proactive company notice; one family threatened with cancellation when questioning.
- Long daily drives become tedious; itinerary clarity and pickup logistics sometimes vague until arrival.
- Hire a local guide in Tetouan separately; tipping norms and dinner options left unexplained by company.
