About this trip
Four days that take you from Muscat's city sights out to the desert and back, with a wadi swim thrown in along the way. It's a compact route rather than a deep dive, built to give you a genuine taste of Oman without needing much time off work.
You start in Muscat itself, then head out to Wadi Arbaeen and Wadi Bani Khalid before spending a night camped in the Wahiba Sands. It's partially guided and run on a private basis, so it suits couples, friends or family travelling together who want their own pace rather than a set group.
What you'll do
- See the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and browse Muttrah Souq in Muscat
- Swim in the pools at Wadi Bani Khalid
- Take on the dunes of Wahiba Sands with a dune bashing excursion
- Spend a night at a desert camp under the stars
- Visit Wadi Arbaeen on the way through
- Private and partially guided, so it's just your group rather than joining strangers
- Easy-paced and short, four days in total, so it's more a taster than an in-depth exploration
- Suits families and those with limited time
