About this trip
An 8-day route through northern and central Vietnam, from Hanoi down to Hoi An, taking in the country's history, food and landscapes along the way.
You start in Hanoi, with time to explore the old quarter by cyclo, before heading out to Halong Bay for a cruise past limestone karsts, with caves and kayaking on the itinerary. From there you travel south to Hue for a look at its imperial past, then over the Hai Van Pass to Hoi An.
Hoi An itself is a highlight in its own right, with its old town, tailor shops and riverside streets giving you plenty to wander through. There's also some countryside cycling and a cooking class worked in along the way.
