About this trip
Three distinct sides of Argentina in eleven days: the capital's elegance, the roar of Iguazú, and the high-desert colour of the Northwest.
You start in Buenos Aires with a welcome dinner and a guided tour through San Telmo and La Boca, then a night out at a live tango show. From there you fly north to Iguazú Falls, walking the rainforest paths on both the Argentine and Brazilian sides for the full scale of the falls.
The trip ends in Salta province, travelling through the Salinas Grandes salt flats, the village of Purmamarca beneath the Seven Colours Hill, and the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a UNESCO-listed valley thick with history and Andean scenery.
What you'll do
- Guided walk through Buenos Aires' San Telmo and La Boca neighbourhoods
- Welcome dinner with Argentine wine and local cuisine
- Live tango show in Buenos Aires
- Walkways over Iguazú Falls from both the Argentine and Brazilian sides
- Salinas Grandes salt flats and Purmamarca's Seven Colours Hill
- Quebrada de Humahuaca, a UNESCO World Heritage site
- Involves an internal flight between Buenos Aires and Iguazú, plus onward travel to Salta
- Partially guided — some days are led, others more independent
- Suits families and small private groups as well as solo travellers
Worth it if you're comfortable with shifting group compositions and have cash for surprise fees. Think twice if you expect a consistent group or seamless logistics.
- You'll be mixed with different tourists daily, not a fixed group—lonely if you travel solo or seek friendships.
- Hidden cash costs: 6,000 ARG salt flats, 2,000 ARG scenic areas, 500 ARG bathrooms—not listed upfront.
- Communication fails between outsourced companies; one traveller missed flights after ignored requests for schedule correction.
- Buenos Aires and Salta hotels excellent; Iguazú Falls spectacular; transportation comfortable throughout.
