About this trip
Four countries in fifteen days, moving from Vietnam's limestone landscapes and old capitals through Cambodia's temple ruins to Thailand's Buddhist sites and on to the quieter pace of Laos. It's a broad sweep through Indochina, built around the region's best-known cultural landmarks rather than off-the-beaten-track finds.
You'll cover a lot of ground: karst scenery and dynastic temples in the north of Vietnam, the tunnels and delta life of the south, Angkor Wat and Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia, Bangkok's temple circuit, then Laos for a slower final stretch around Luang Prabang's caves and waterfalls.
What you'll do
- Explore the karst formations and ancient temples of Hoa Lu Tam Coc
- Cruise past the limestone islands of Halong Bay
- Visit the Cu Chi tunnels and explore life on the Mekong Delta
- See Angkor Wat and ride a tuk tuk around Tonle Sap Lake in Siem Reap
- Visit Bangkok's leading temples and largest Buddha statues
- End at Pak Ou Cave and Kuang Si Waterfall in Laos
- Covers four countries in 15 days, so expect internal flights and border crossings alongside the sightseeing
- Partially guided, with a mix of led activities and time to explore on your own
- Pace eases toward the end, with Laos offering a slower, more relaxed final stretch
Worth it if you want seamless multi-country coverage with strong local guides and don't mind a packed itinerary. Think twice if you prefer fewer tourist-trap stops or dislike frequent group composition changes.
- Local guides and drivers consistently professional, knowledgeable, and adapt daily to conditions like extreme heat.
- Elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai and Angkor Wat genuinely standout; food cheap and amazing throughout region.
- Taken to tourist traps under cultural guise with purchase pressure; group composition changes per city, not consistent.
- Bring substantial cash; get visas and Thailand TDAC online beforehand to avoid airport delays and overpaying.
