About this trip
Thirteen days across Vietnam and Cambodia, covering the two countries' biggest landmarks without rushing past the culture in between. You start in Hanoi, head up to the rice terraces around Sapa, cruise Ha Long Bay, then work your way down to the old trading port of Hoi An before crossing into Cambodia for the temples of Angkor.
It's a solid introduction to both countries rather than a deep dive into either — a good fit if this is your first time in Southeast Asia and you want the highlights done properly, with some structure and a guide to lean on but room to explore on your own too.
What you'll do
- Cruise the limestone karsts of Ha Long Bay
- Walk the rice terraces around Sapa
- Wander the old town and lantern-lit streets of Hoi An
- Explore Angkor Wat at sunrise or sunset
- Trek through the jungle-covered ruins of Ta Prohm
- Partially guided — expect a mix of led activities and free time
- Moderate pace across two countries, so you'll be changing location often
- Covers a lot of ground in 13 days, better suited to those who want a broad overview than a slow, single-region trip
