About this trip
Five days that take you from Bogotá's mix of history and modern city life into the remote plains of La Macarena, where the real draw waits: Caño Cristales, the river known for turning shades of yellow, green, red and blue as its underwater plants bloom.
This only happens between June and November, so the whole trip is built around that window. Getting there means a flight deep into the wilderness, then settling into a traditional local cabin as your base for exploring the river and surrounding jungle.
It is a shared, community-hosted experience throughout — group excursions, group transport, and simple accommodation — putting you close to a part of Colombia that still feels raw and largely untouched.
