About this trip
A 7-day loop from Dublin down to Cork, along the Wild Atlantic Way to Galway and back, built around Ireland's south and west coast rather than the big-bus tourist trail.
Expect proper time outdoors — kayaking on the Lakes of Killarney, hiking sections of the Ring of Kerry and Dingle, and standing at the edge of the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren's limestone landscape. Evenings bring traditional music and food in small towns along the way.
It's a small-group coach tour, so travel between stops is handled for you, leaving you free to take in the scenery, culture, and craic without worrying about logistics.
What you'll do
- Kayak on the Lakes of Killarney
- Hike stretches of the Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula
- Stand at the Cliffs of Moher and explore the Burren
- Explore Killarney National Park
- Spend time in Galway, Ireland's bohemian capital city
- Traditional music nights and local food along the route
- Small-group coach tour with a fixed route and set departure day (Sundays)
- Involves some active elements like hiking and kayaking, alongside sightseeing
- Starts and ends at the Ashling Hotel in Dublin
Worth it if you value knowledgeable guides and a tight-knit group vibe. Think twice if you're tall, need premium accommodation, or want to book group rooms without platform friction.
- Guides like Diarmuid, Beccy and Mick are genuinely passionate, flexible with itinerary, and create a friends-exploring-together atmosphere.
- Mercedes van seats cramped for larger or taller travellers; some hotels notably poor—Cork location sketchy, mattresses worn, pillows flat.
- Tour Radar booking site wouldn't allow three per room despite accommodation availability, charging unnecessary single-occupancy fees.
- Small group size fosters genuine camaraderie; itinerary avoids standard tourist loops. B&Bs vary widely in quality.
