About this trip
Nine days across Patagonia's big three: Torres del Paine, El Chalten and the Moreno Glacier at El Calafate. You start in Punta Arenas and finish in El Calafate, moving between destinations to hike some of the region's most talked-about trails.
Hotels, meals, transport and local expert guides are included throughout, so the logistics are handled while you focus on the walking.
This isn't a single group travelling together start to finish. At each destination you join different guides and different fellow travellers, so the people around you change as you move through the itinerary.
What you'll do
- Hike in Torres del Paine National Park
- Trek the trails around El Chalten
- Visit the Moreno Glacier from El Calafate
- Cross between Chilean and Argentinean Patagonia
- Stay in hotels with meals and transport included at each stop
- Not a fixed group tour — you get new guides and travel companions at each destination rather than one leader for the whole trip
- Involves multiple hiking days, so a reasonable level of fitness helps
- Worth asking questions before booking, since the format differs from a standard escorted tour
Worth it if you value seamless logistics, high-end lodging, and iconic Patagonian hikes. Think twice if you need reliable connectivity or want to skip easier warm-up walks.
- Guides are genuinely knowledgeable and guides like Daniela stand out; logistics run like clockwork with airport pickups and daily email updates.
- Accommodation is consistently upscale with included breakfasts; first and last hotels in Puerto Natales and El Chalten particularly impressive.
- Wifi and cell data are poor in El Chalten and non-existent on intercity buses; connectivity issues frustrate staying in touch.
- Day two's Laguna Amarga hike is short and basic; consider it a warm-up rather than a headline trek.
