About this trip
This is a short self-drive stopover, built for filling a layover or opening a longer trip with a proper taste of Iceland's south-west. You're behind the wheel throughout, moving from Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík and out along the Golden Circle at your own pace.
Day one takes you across the Reykjanes Peninsula's lava-field landscape before you settle into Reykjavík for the night. Day two is given over to the Golden Circle's big three sights, then a quieter drive back through farmland rounds things off.
It's private and self-guided rather than a group tour, so the pace is really up to you.
