About this trip
A 9-day self-drive loop around Iceland, at your own pace and in your own hire car, taking in the full range of the country's landscapes rather than just the Golden Circle highlights.
You'll cover the South Shore's waterfalls, the glaciers of Vatnajökull National Park, the East Fjords' fishing villages, and the geothermal area around Lake Mývatn, before finishing with Snæfellsnes Peninsula and the Golden Circle on the way back to Reykjavík.
This is a self-guided trip — you drive between overnight stops on a set route, with accommodation arranged but no guide travelling with you, so it suits people who want structure without being tied to a group.
