About this trip
This is a self-drive route through Portugal and Spain, tracing a coastline shaped by centuries of trade, conquest and exchange between the two countries. You set your own pace behind the wheel, moving between the two nations' medieval walled towns and quieter rural villages.
It is built as a private, self-guided journey, so your days are your own rather than fixed to a group timetable. Expect a mix of well-preserved old towns, open countryside and coastal viewpoints along the way.
With 12 days on the road, there is room to slow down in places that catch your interest rather than rushing point to point.
