About this trip
This is a six-day self-drive through southern Iceland in winter, covering the country's best-known route at your own pace. You get a hire car and a route plan, then drive yourself between the sights rather than following a guide or a coach.
The days take you round the Golden Circle, along the South Coast and out to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, with Reykjavik bookending the trip. It suits people who want to see Iceland's headline landscapes without signing up for a fixed group schedule.
Because it's self-guided, you can slow down or speed up depending on weather and daylight, which matters in winter when conditions can change your plans.
