About this trip
Nine days moving through Italy by train, from Milan down to Rome, taking in Venice and Florence along the way. Each city gets its own day of sightseeing, with the classic sights covered rather than left for you to hunt down.
The trip is partially guided, so you will have a different guide and group each day rather than one leader for the whole journey. That suits people who want structure around the big sights but don't mind a bit of change day to day.
What you'll do
- See Milan's Duomo, Teatro alla Scala, and the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio
- Cross the Venetian Lagoon to Murano, Burano, and Torcello
- Take a guided half-day round trip to Pisa from Florence, with a guide on board the train
- Explore the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill in Rome
- Partially guided — you get a different guide and group each day rather than one constant leader
- Suits travellers happy with a fixed itinerary and meeting new people daily rather than sticking with the same group throughout
